Any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such … killing members of the group, causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group, deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part, imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group, and/or forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

This definition was created in 1948 but legaly is very difficult for courts to prove genocidal intent. This definition doesn’t include other categories to be targeted including socioeconomic, political identity, etc.
why aren’t more people freaking out?
Quite simply countries are hesitant to label this as a genocide because of the action steps it would require them to take. Genocides require resources and making enemies, sort of similar to why we rarely declare war anymore. But lipstick on a pig doesn’t change how bacon tastes as they say.
