Boycotts

Don’t underestimate the effectiveness of consumer boycotts. Corporations invest heavily in their brand names and the goodwill associated with them. Loud, boisterous, attention-getting boycotts can harm brand names and reduce the prices of corporations’ shares of stock.

What are Boycotts?

                   <p>Choosing to boycott a certain company is a personal choice that must be considered with all factors including budget, accessibility, health, community resources, etc. <b>Choosing to financially support these companies is not a moral failing especially in the case of monopolies or profiteering off of basic utilities and necessities in areas with less options.</b> Even if boycotting a company is not the right choice for you, being aware of how these companies betray and hurt their customer base can lead us to bring legislative change to stop their behavior.  </p>

                  <p>When I first started this page, I was optimistic about being able to keep track of all major companies worth boycotting... but I'm starting to unfortunately realize I'd be better off creating a list of companies <b>worthy</b> of shopping at instead. I will be making a point to create this list in the future. For now I will leave the information up here for record keeping - but I would advise conscious consumers to avoid purchasing at nation wide chains whenever possible. Shopping local allows our community to thrive under the means of our own production.  </p>
